Copy and Paste Between NASIS and Word

Verify NetManage ViewNow X Windows Configuration

  1. Click on Start | All Programs | NetManage ViewNow Xwindows | Xserver
     
  2. Right-click “X server display:0” icon on the task bar at the bottom of the screen. Click on “X Control Panel”
     
  3. Click on File | Default Server Settings
     
  4. In the “X Server Properties -- Default Settings” Window, configure the following: a. Click on “Server” tab, the “X cut buffer linked to Microsoft Windows clipboard” should be set to “CLIPBOARD”

Verify NASIS Preferences

In NASIS, click on “Options”, “NASIS Preferences”. Verify that the NASIS text editor is set to “Text Editor”.

To copy text from an X terminal window (NASIS) to the Clipboard

  1. Open the X terminal (NASIS) window and display the text you want to copy.
     
  2. Select the text to copy. Click Edit, Copy. Then Right-click on the X Server taskbar button. This button is listed as “X Server display:0” on the taskbar on the bottom of the screen. Click Edit, and then click Copy to MS Windows Clipboard.
     
  3. You can then paste the text from the clipboard directly into other Windows applications or into another X terminal window. In Microsoft Word, click Edit and then click Paste.

To paste text from the clipboard to an X terminal window (NASIS)

  1. Copy the text to the Microsoft Windows clipboard. In Microsoft Word, highlight the text, click Edit, and then click Copy.
     
  2. Open the X terminal (NASIS) window and position the cursor where you want to paste the text.
     
  3. Click in the NASIS text editor. Click Edit, Paste.
