Spotlights: Conservation Conversations for Healthy Soil

January 19, 2012

Working with conservation partner Dr. Robin 'Buz' Kloot of the Earth Sciences and Resources Institute, University of South Carolina, members of the National Soil Health and Sustainability Team, North Carolina NRCS staff, Earth Team volunteers, and farmers are featured in Conservation Conversations sponsored by NRCS's East National Technology Support Center (ENTSC), Greensboro, NC. Using demonstration plantings, interviews, case studies, and lectures, viewers learn about conservation practices and basic soil health concepts that result in healthy soil and sustainable agriculture.

Additionally, "Innovative No-Till: Using Multi-Species Cover Crops to Improve Soil Health," a video featuring Jay Fuhrer, North Dakota NRCS and Susan Tallman, National Sustainable Agriculture Information Service, emphasizes crop diversity in no-till systems to improve soil health and increase productivity.

Watch, enjoy, and learn about soil health, cover crops, and crop diversity concepts by viewing the videos below.
